Mansfield, Texas will now be home for the Brooks family. Mansfield in a mere 15min from where Brian and I grew up and where our families still live. Our last Sunday here at FBC Crossett is March 14th.
Brian is the new youth pastor at First Baptist Church Mansfield. The pastor and his wife are no strangers to Brian and I. In fact we have known them since we were youth. We also served with them in Odessa. There is such a neat feeling about all ready knowing your pastors heart. It is nice to know his family. It's very comforting to know we mesh! That is so important in church staff. We have all ready walked many roads with them in ministry and I look forward to the days, months and years ahead. We are so excited about getting to know the other staff members there as well. We had dinner with them all last Friday and it couldn't have felt more "right." God is at work and Brian and I are so excited He has called us to do His work in the local church.
With all that being said we are leaving a very loving church family here in Crossett. A youth group that means the world to us. They have stamped a place on our hearts that will be there FOREVER! Words can not express the love we have received here. The past 4 1/2 years we have built relationships that I know will last a lifetime. Many of you welcomed us into your family as if we were your own. My boys were 7, 3 and 2 when we came here. Carson and Garrett were so little that FBC Crossett is all they know in a church family. For Mason this is hard to understand, but it has been neat to talk to him about understanding and knowing God's will. Brian and I were talking about how much we have grown since coming here in July 2006. You all have taught us so much!! FBC has shown us what it means to be loved by a church family. Southern Hospitality is like NO other. :) We as a family have so many memories we will take with us. Brian and I were talking about many of them Saturday night and thought it would be fun to take the next week or so to share those memories and pictures here on my blog. Please feel free to leave us comments with some of your favorite memories. FOR THOSE THAT READ MY BLOG ON FACEBOOK PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS HERE ON THE ACTUAL BLOG. SOMETIMES I NEVER SEE YOUR COMMENTS ON FACEBOOK THEY VANISH IN SPACE I GUESS. LOL! BUT IF YOU DO THAT IS OK. :)
