The canoe/camping trip I will never forget! Again, remember I told you I'm a city girl! :)
This trip started out wet! We had only been on the road about 20min when the sky turned dark! Not good when your heading out on a camping trip. We made it to the camp site pitched the tents, went out on the lake, ate dinner and then BAMB! RAIN, RAIN, RAIN! It started raining at 7:30pm that night and didn't stop until sunrise the next day! It was a long night. This wasn't just your normal rain shower.... I'm talking tornado cells all around us, major wind gust and pouring rain! One of the girls tents completely flooded so Coach put them in the church van and ran an extension cord with a box fan into the van for air flow. The van was full of girls with no room for myself and Felicia Outlaw. :( We toughed it out in our tent.....calling Brian on the cell phone (remember it's raining...I can't just walk over to his tent)begging to go find a hotel. In fact it got so nasty outside I decided to call Bro. Jeff (pastor) I thought since we have his baby girl he will give us the OK to go get a hotel. Sure enough he did, BUT Brian and Coach thought we could tough it out besides we were NO WHERE NEAR A HOTEL. WE survived the long wet night and now we can laugh about it. Our air mattress was floating in our tent the next morning, but we were alive! Lol!
We played on the lake the first day. The 2nd day we canoed down the river. I have no pictures from the canoe part because I was afraid my canoe would tip and my camera would be ruined. Good thing I left it in the van because wouldn't you know my canoe flipped! My wilderness days were about over at this point! All I could think of was next time I'm taking the girls to Little Rock, we are getting a hotel and shopping!! ;) Actually, I ended up having a good time, but not good enough to want to go again the next year! :)
Tent before the flood!
The dinner table!
Matt and Brian about to partake in a friendly inter-tube battle....
Poor Matt.....everyone spent the day trying to knock Brian off the tube.
